Formula Student
“Joining MUR and being a part of Formula Student was the best decision I made in my 7 years at university”
2023
Aerodynamics Engineer, Powertrain Engineer, Lead Cooling Engineer
Learnt how to weld, designed a cooling system, designed a powertrain plate, did a bunch of layups.
2024
Team Principal
First completed technical inspection and first dynamic event in 5 years, managed 100+ people over 19 sub teams, developed foundations and structure for a sustainable team, and some layups.
2025
Aerodynamics Engineer, Resident Unc
Designed a really sick front wing, did a bunch of manufacturing, dished out unsolicited wisdom.
2025
I returned to the Aerodynamics team under the excellent management of Cal and Lukas and was assigned to work on Front Wing with junior member Hayden. The team was tasked with its first aerodynamics package in years with a shoestring budget to work with. Much work was spent in learning the design workflow required to create an aero package backed by theory, simulation and validated by real world performance. With our first foray into complex composites manufacturing, we conducted research into optimal mould manufacturing and sealing before settling on a cost and labour efficient solution.
Also drove M24.
2024
During my time as team principal I guided the team through big changes and set the foundations for a sustainable future. MUR completed its first technical inspection and participated in its first dynamic event in 5 years. Implementing heavily from change management, leaned heavily on change-management principles - rebuilding structures, tightening workflows, and helping the team operate with more clarity and confidence. Much of my role was about keeping people aligned, supporting the leads, and making sure the car and the team moved forward together.
2023
In my first year in MUR, I was responsible for the cooling system, where I redesigned the entire package to be lighter, cleaner, and easier to integrate with the rest of the car. I also developed a new powertrain plate design and worked closely with the manufacturing team to bring a lot of the aerodynamics components to life. It was a very hands-on year - lots of design work, lots of time in the workshop, and a great intro to how all the systems fit together.
